Knowing which airline allows one to carry musical instruments on board, free of charge, or knowing that certain theaters in a particular city have free concerts on a specific day, is information only an experienced traveler, or a local in the city would know. And that's the kind of information we wanted, to give people a truly unique experience, different from an ordinary travel portal.
The world’s first crowd-sourced travel intelligence platform, O Genie, got recognition at the Lisbon Web Summit, 2019.
O Genie arrived at the Lisbon Web Summit, looking to make people sign up to become Genieologists. Since we were building the first virtual travel buddy based on crowd-sourced intelligence, we needed an intelligent crowd. And since free food has never, ever failed to draw a crowd we decided to hand out food that is known to increase your brain power - such as delicious salted almonds. The message was clear - as you get smarter, so does O Genie.
