While in Coronavirus lockdown, and not only unable to photograph people, but unable even to go outside to photograph anything 'in the wild', I decided to do a product shot of this Garmin Forerunner 735XT. I wanted it to look like it was outdoors to reflect the multisports nature of the sports watch, so decided to create an outdoor scene indoors.

In my one hour of allowed exercise per day I went down to the banks of the Thames and collected some sand and stones.

This meant that i could make a tabletop set representing a riverbank, including a pool of water, with a sloping 'bank' of snad and stones emerging from it. This meant I could place the watch amongst the stones, slightly submerged in the water.

I experimented with various configurations of flash to light the scene, but ultimately decided that the natural light coming through the skylight of my home studio looked better, and used that.
