Dante's Inferno Typographic Book

Dante’s Inferno Typographic Book

Challenge
Develop a printed narrative that explores type as voice, rhythm, pacing, and user experience.

Opportunity
Utilizing the work of Dante Aligheri's Inferno, the story is told through the use of excerpts from the English translation, as well as my own writing summarizing the story. For the aesthetic, each spread is typographically designed to evoke the feeling of each of the nine rings of Hell. The jarring black, white and red color palette echoes the breadth of Dante's emotional experience.
