travel concentration: amsterdam

This image was the inspiration for my first concentration piece on travel. I used a 9 by 12 piece of paper and used colored pencils to illustrate a version of this image from Amsterdam in a gloomy style. By using darker colors and making the sky overcast, the use of color turned out exactly how I had intended. The drawing turned out sloppier than I had initially intended, but achieved the nonrealistic style I drew it in. In each of the windows, I drew a different scene, in which made the buildings look very detailed and added a lot of depth to the picture. I used boats in the foreground as guides to move the viewers eyes along the picture. Overall, I am satisfied with how it turned out.
