Form study of Philips

       Brief

This project took place from September 9th to November 7th, 2017. It focuses on studying Philips' brand image and product design. I tried to applied features I learned from my research to my sculpting.

        About Philips

Founded in Eindhoven, Dutch, 1891, Philips is a world-wide leading company in lighting, household appliance and now medical device. Its aesthetic has been an impact for more than a century. Philips has designed so many products and every single product has some qualities that emphasizes Philips' brand identity , especially when it comes to products' forms.

       Products' features

I focused on Philips hair dryer's design. A Philips hair dryer is neat yet a great example of ergonomic appliance design. The design is always on-point and iconic.

       Ideation

I had three form proposals based on three main bodies.

proposal 02 ✓

proposal 03 ✓

       Outcome

After doing much sketching and model making, I started to make these two pieces.

             FORM STUDY 02
