SIGNS, SYMBOLS AND OMENS

SIGNS, SYMBOLS AND OMENS
Here are my notes from the lecture we had on "Signs, Symbols and Omens". I found this talk very beneficial, as it got me thinking about how to approach creating logos, as well as opening my eyes to how symbols and visual shapes can hold so much weight despite being so simple. I find the idea of so much identity and ethos being masked behind such simplicity fascinating, because it takes a huge amount of thought and experimenting to communicate exactly what it is you want to communicate via a small logo.

This talk comes in preparation for our first proper project, which has something to do with logos. I have come into this course not having studied Graphic Design before, so I am intrigued to see how I will deal with logos and all the intricacies that comes along with it. I think it will be a good way for me to gauge what the course will be like.
