As a part of my freelancing project, I created an illustration for a stock image which is published to Adobe Stock. The illustration is a traditional Australian cake, Pavlova. 

After researching a current illustration trend, I decided to use a playful, bright colors and adding variants of texture.The illustration is not meant to be a realistic illustration, but intended to be a simpler, modern-looking piece.

Different design principles can be helpful when combined correctly. a mix of texture and color can create contrast, for example a dark-colored shape with bright-colored texture.

In the process, I use a reference image as a guide, and start creating the outline for basic shapes. Next step is to add little details on the toppings and creating contrast on the inside of the cake. The final step is to incorporate more textures in each parts of the cake where necessary.
