This project uses instagram data to visualise colour and spacial patterns from Melbourne Spring Fashion Week 2014. 

Using leaflet.js I was able to extract the key colour from each geotagged photograph within the dataset tagged #msfw and represent these colours as map icons. 

Users can explore the colour and spatial patterns by clicking on icons to reveal a popup of the original instagram post.

During Melbourne Spring Fashion Week each attendee travels to different locations around Melbourne. These might include the Town Hall for runway events, the Strand for shopping outings, a great cafe for brunch, and their home or hotel for rest.

Naturally their instagram posts will be a diary of significant sites and scenes they experienced. 

By mapping these locations and colouring the design based on significant colours in their instagram post photos, a visualisation of their unique journey is created.
