Brand New Identity 2010-11
One of my favourite projects this September has been the free reign over the creation of a brand new identity for London based shoegaze-ravers Hammond & Bell. The designs are intended for use across digital platforms, correspondence  and printed media & t-shirts.The logotype was extensively developed by hand from an original 3x3 'limited pixel' based idea, inspired by their digital programmed music. Add to this the retro rave colour palette of 80's acid house and some blissed out lens effects and an identity was born for thier ambient soundscapes. The 45 degree angles within the piece and the modern picture elements (which are interchangeable according to usage) help give the whole piece the more contemporary feel of modern cutting-edge dance music and stop it slipping into the ambient retro genre.
