The souvenir museum Verdes y Colores  located in Alajuela, Costa Rica, contacted me to develop a series of illustrations about costarican folklore in a different, creative way.

I made four illustrations based on Costarican masquerades, shaved ice carts "copos", hummingbirds, and a free topic focused on happiness and fruit.

Personally, I love the idea of having the influences of my beloved country present in my work as an artist / designer.  This was a huge oportunity I wasn't going to miss.

The illustrations are a colletion of t - shirts called "Hola, Costa Rica".  The name humanizes the country, greeting the audience and presenting, with a different face, some of its most popular traditions.

Go visit Verdes y Colores on the way to Poás volcano and check out their great offer and what they're doing for Costa Rica:

Here you can find 7 species of hummingbirds amon others living in Costa Rica. And they all are forming one big buddie.
Seven tasty flavors representing the 7 provinces of Costa Rica.
Choose your favorite flavor!!
These are the most popular characters of costa rican mascarades. "La Giganta", "el Gigante" ,"el Diablo" , "el Cadejos", "el Torito", "la Bruja", "la Muerte", "el Payaso", "el Policía" y "el Negrito".
