Debra
Debra is a clear open sans serif with quite some contrast. The spiky ends in the roman give it a confident and sharp character. On the other hand in the italic the ends are upright. This little trick makes the composition complex and rich. I have to admit that the relationship of the roman with the italic plays a very important role in the last few typefaces I designed. Debra is one further step. The terminals of the italics are perfectly upright. In the roman they are angled. An interesting twist to the stroke behaviour. The caps have 19th century grotesque proportions. In the standard set the main figures are tabular but with a proportional old style figure set as a feature. Traditional and stylistic ligatures are also part of the feature set.
