World Information Architecture Day (WIAD) Welcome Video.
World Information Architecture Day Event, in short WIAD, aims to celebrate Information Architecture around the globe. The event is organised by the Information Architecture Institute in the USA and happens on the same day in more than 50 countries.
Every year a video is produced as a welcome video where the annual theme is announced. It all starts with a script.
The script was "designed" so a narrator sets the pace and informs about the message the video is going to get through. The next step is to start thinking about images to "paint" the script. A shooting script is a good way to start.
With the shooting script, a first draft of the video is produced. There is no intention to make it pretty at this point. The point is really just to get some images on top of the text.
After a lot of thinking, collaboration, and further image research the conclusion was that the best way to portrait the text was with animation. Animations gives more freedom and can help provide a "unique" look to the video. With an educational video in mind, animation creation and editing, the video was born.
