BEEP: The Future Now

The Future Now

Brief:
Branding and brands are now everywhere. Who would have thought we could have loyalty and an emotional bond with a bottle of water? But what or who will be branded or need branding in the future? Robotics deals with the design operation and use of robots as well as computer systems for their control sensory feedback and information processing. These technologies are used to develop machines that can be a substitute for humans.

Create a brand for an organisation or organisations that represent robotics and robots relationship to humans. An organisation that communicates the rights and aspirations of robots.
My Response
In response to the brief I created a welcome pack for a Trade Federation called BEEP (Breaking Enslavement of Electronic Persons) which included a Welcome Document, a brochure for their affiliated Trade Union, EPU (Electronic Persons Union), a Manifesto Poster and a Membership Card.

The brand identity aims to be the corollary of the stark contrasts on the spectrum of emotion that is felt by sentient electronic persons. Very thin fonts have been used for the headings and body text to give the documents a refined, stylish and contemporary feel, whilst the logo has made use of a very black font to contrast heavily from the rest of the text and really stand out. The symbol of the brand is a coat of arms to put the message across of the brand being traditional and also to contrast heavily with the contemporary and modern style of the rest of the brand identity. Duotone imagery has been used with high contrast bright, bold colours to epitamise the feeling of bursting vibrant emotions. The imagery used is related to the workplace, with a focus on mechanical industry to give the underlying message of the sentient electronic persons being the engine that drives the UK economy and also creating contrast between the stereotypical colours associated with mechanical machinery of grey and brown with the bright pink, yellows, reds, and blues.
