Redesigning experience for Taxi-Hailing application.
The one lesson that clearly came out of this research process was that pretty much all existing applications in the sector (whether for taxi hailing, carpooling or transportation) are built in the same way in terms of user experience.
The one lesson that clearly came out of this research process was that pretty much all existing applications in the sector (whether for taxi hailing, carpooling or transportation) are built in the same way in terms of user experience.
There is nothing wrong with this flow - indeed, if everybody is adopting it, it means it works well for end users.
However, there is always room for improvement and in designing a new user experience, I wanted to create an interface which
• would allow users to access every parameter without leaving the main page
• would provide better usability/accessibility and interaction (screens are becoming considerably larger, phones are becoming ever more powerful - and this needs to be taken into consideration when designing user-flows)
• would offer a more fluid, seamless and smooth user flow
• would be in line the big design trends that are present in many applications and which provide a "standard" to which the users are getting increasingly used to.
