WGAF - Campaign Against Gender Stereotype

WGAF - Campaign Against Gender Stereotype

Gender stereotyping is defined as over generalization of characteristics, differences and attributes of a certain group based on their gender.
Campaign Process

The campaign started off with participation from the audience. Both genders were asked to share their experiences of being gender stereotyped. They wrote down the stereotyped comments that have been told to them and these confessions were then used as the main elements of the campaign.
Campaign Strategy

The campaign was meant to be bold and provoking. It is also a form of satire or mockery. The saying WGAF or 'Who Gives A F%@#' is used as the title of the campaign mainly to insinuate and  to emphasize the ignorance or the skeptical attitude of our society regarding gender stereotypes. The design itself screams boldness and in-your-face.
Campaign Conclusion

The world that we live in is filled with chaos and we can easily get lost without a proper guidance. We struggle all our lives trying to find who we are and construct our own identity but with so many challenges around us, we are pressured to accept and succumb to society’s standards. Thus, perhaps the best way for us to intervene this endless cycle of stereotypes is to stand up to what is wrong in the society and learn to curb our ignorance.

It is important to understand that we are more than just simply our gender or sex and that each of us was made up of both masculinity and femininity traits. The integration of both traits will lead us to a more balanced and healthy well being.
