Everyday people are suffering from fires in their homes. Valuables perish, lives are lost everyday something needed to be done. To show my support for the South African Red Cross Association and Red Crescent Movement i have decided to create a poster that would save a life. 

The poster that I created would help people by changing colour, alerting them if there is a fire in the vicinity or close by. The poster is printed with thermochromatic ink that changes colour with heat. The poster will initially be white with red text saying that it is safe, as soon as the poster heats up it will change to red with white text saying exit now.

The challenges I faced was how would I design a poster that would actually change colour with heat and how would I design the poster so that people would want to keep it in their homes.

When I user tested my first and second poster on my collegues they weren’t very attracted to it, they thought that the poster was too busy and crowded. When I user tested the final poster my collegues liked it and said they liked the layout, type and font size.
