More About this project
This poster serves to improve visibility of pedestrians walking at night. Due to heavy rains in the area which cause street lights to go out it is advised that you take a sticker if you are wearing dark clothing. I am aiming to create an “Unleash Your Hero” challenge, where by participants will nominate each other or themselves to help someone in need and unleash your hero by becoming theirs. The purpose of this campaign is to raise funds, help potential volunteers to join as well as to bring communities together. The posters are a means in which we are able to help people in ways that most of us never thought was necessary. By doing the “Unleash Your Hero” challenge this will allow people to feel what it is like when they are able to make a difference in someone’s life and hopefully this will encourage them to join or at least donate to the Red Cross Society. The poster consists of 3 colours a spot varnish and a kiss cut (die cut) I kept the amount of colours used in the poster to 3 colours to reduce costs of the extra ink. The colours in the poster are Magenta, Yellow and Black. Using the light reflective varnish instead of the light reflective inks also reduces costs. If the light reflecting ink was used instead then two spot colours would be required. The light reflective white and the light reflective red. Using the reflective varnish however makes the colours found in the CMYK reflective with one varnish. I used the hero figure because I wanted to encourage the youth to pursue this challenge in a fun way rather than overlooking it or thinking that they would be nerds if they had to do the challenge. The hero figure also stands for children which they can then look to their parents for and encourage the parents, or even feel motivated from a young age to join the Red Cross.
