World currency - "Scarab"
How will money look like in the future? Economic transactions and exchange has been working and looking different throughout the history. With the world's globalization it is possible that it could soon be useful to have a global currency that works everywhere in the world. That is why I have designed a global currency that can be used on the whole planet no matter where people travel or live, which language they speak or their economic, social or geografic condition.
THE SYMBOL
The symbol of the currency is sometimes called a "scarab" and is a sign/symbol the already exists on the most of computer keyboards and is today used as the general currency-symbol when a currency is unspecified.
The circle of the symbol can be an image for the earth with the "arms" that streches around it. Together they form a symbolic image of fellowship and globalization. It could also represent the four points of the compass that gives us direction around the world.
TYPOGRAPHY
Since that the world looks different from country to country in culture, language and economics - accessiblity and simplicity has been the primary idea for the design for the currency, There is no text on the values exept the symbol of the currency and numbers (that works and looks the same in the whole world) for everybody to read and understand them.
The font that is used for the currency is "Noto", by Google. It is avaible in 800 different languages.
BANK NOTES
I have created abstract motives for the values not to form a hierarchy between each other. The motives on this currency should represent elements and places on earth and the respect of its resources, not only the economic "resources" that the currency contributes to.
COINS
CASH CARD
With the world's globalization, this currency will also work digitally. I have created cash cards (like a digital wallet, not bound to a bank account). The cash cards is connected with an application - whereas the point is for the user to se their personal balance and to control it in different ways (tranfers for example.)
