In the context of the Philippine History, Filipinos have already witnessed a lot of conflicts between different ideologies and principles. We have experienced several wars and death due to abuse of power and simply neglect and exploitation of the very basic conditions of human life, our right to live. One of the most significant issues in our country is the violation of Human Rights and in reality not every Filipinos understand what the basic human rights are.

CANVASā€™ Looking for Juan program centers on creative activities and events designed to explore the use of art in driving debate and discussion on selected social issues, particularly national identity, free expression, technology & culture, sustainable development and human rights.

Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  The artwork embodies our identity shaped by social injustices and inequalities that plague our daily lives. Data shows that around 30 political dynasties control our country by monopolizing its politics, culture, and economy thereby manipulating almost 90% of nation's total wealth. This is the root causeĀ  of layer by layer social ills - massive corruption, crimes, unabated poverty, unemployment and selective access to free and quality education. This practice within the set-up of an oppressive structure marginalizes our people especially the masses. We at the bottomest part of the society's triangle are being controlled and exploited to their highest gains causing us the deprivation of our basic human rights and right to live freely - without borders, labels, and levels in this society.
