The logo was designed to be ever changing just like the world of popular culture that VH1 came to define- it's wrong, it's right, it's bad, it's good...this is the way our shows behaved- shouldn't the logo do the same?
The below images were produced as an introduction to the new logo and new channel direction. The VH1 "character" is Tom Merlino at the time a photo manager in my group- it was a fun campaign and a fun time at the channel.
