During Hull's year of culture, BBC Radio one was putting on its Big Weekender and during its week long build up to the event I was asked to participate in my first ever live art session.
Around a week from the event I decided to start planning on my drawing, only to panic when I discovered that in my transition to digital art, it had been so long since I had put pen to actual paper... I was rusty.
I instantly went out and bought a sketchbook with the aim of really filling it out before the actual live drawing.
I knew I wanted to draw an astronaut and by the end of the week I was already seeing drastic improvement in my drawings, until I roughly drew out what I knew I wanted to draw on the day.
I was given my space on the day at the bottom of the canvas and got to work filling in the space the previous artists had left me.
Overall I really enjoyed getting back to traditional art, which has definitely sneaked its way back into my workflow since. Can't wait for my next chance at live art.
