The oil pipeline running under Lake Michigan has become an increasingly hot button topic. This article features leaders on both sides of the fence. Unlike many articles for the magazine, this article was photographed in cycle shortly before it was set to go to press. Subjects were met either on the way to a policy conference on Mackinac island or at a PR event held by Enbridge.  

Using water as a backdrop for the subjects helped to bring home the idea of the importance of clean water, no matter how you feel about the oil pipeline in the Great Lakes.
