the brief

This 2D & 3D animation tv spot was my first collaboration with FAGE - one of the largest and most successful companies which is leading the dairy market even beyond the borders of Greece. Junior is the hero of the kids' yoghurt desserts which the company introduced to the public years ago and since then they have been at the top of the list as the most loved kids' brands.
 
The challenge was double for me: not only did I have to write a story about the hero that could help the children learn about recycling at home in a comprehensive way, but I had to teach myself to cope with the demands of creating a 2D & 3D animation spot.
 
The campaign was accompanied by a theme poster, a collection of on-pack stickers with information about recycling, a 2-page magazine, as well as story material for Junior's site. The success of the specific spot was the start of a great collaboration with the client that led to three more animated stories.

what happened next
 
Junior dived into the deep blue sea... and I got to learn how to swim in the animation world! Sea World is nothing compared to the world I had to invent in this second spot for the little hero. The most difficult thing was to establish a sequence that doesn't strike as weird or incomplete between scenes. The campaign was accompanied by on-pack stickers, two-page leaflet, online material and poster promoting the theme.

The next animated story was about Junior teaching kids road signs and traffic code.The third 2D/3D animated spot of the series was an intriguing one since it demanded more complex storyline and animation "tricks". I was inspired by the actual book of the traffic codes which seemed to be irresistible to my nephew who although didn't know how to read, he was drawn to it by the striking, colourful signs. The creative obstacles were surpassed thanks to the imaginative mind of Yannis Georgariou from MAGIKON and we managed to deliver one more successful Junior story to the campaign.

 
Junior was running for the first time... and I was running to beat the deadline! This is my fourth and last 2D/3D animated spot for the little hero and it was an emotional one because it was my very last piece of work in BBDO Athens before I left for my MA degree in London. Therefore the theme of the campaign expresses exactly how my life was during that period of time: like a race!
 
Also, sports are an all-time favourite theme for kids and through this story children had the opportunity to learn more about the origins of the classical track games that date back to Ancient Greece's Olympic Games. It was also a challenge to write a storyline where all the actions were happening at the same time.
