My cultural motif design. My culture topic was "Russian Khokhloma" which is a painting technique used on wooden tableware. I found inspiration from several different khokhloma designs. I focused on making the design busy but organized like the khoklomas. I used alot of curves and added different line weights to create movement and to help the design not look so cluttered. The text is a quote from Olan Rogers, "Through the good times and throught the hard times, I had a wonderous time."

We created a color palette that supports our cutlural motif. The color in the middle (red) is the "constant". The constant is supposed to be a moderate value and color so it can appear to be changing in relation to the colros that surrpund it.
