SAY NOTHING BUT MEANING SOMETHING

ABOUT

People are afraid to speak out. And with the censorship in Singapore, it is even harder for people to say whatever they want to freely. Instead of saying it out loud, the aim of this task is to get people to write down things they have nothing to say about, things that they really want to say but couldn’t, due to personal, family, government or censorship constrains, both on paper and on the internet.

After going around speaking to people, many of them were reluctant to even write down what they wanted to say. Most of them had nothing to say or even write. However, people were open, bolder, and honest on the internet and more answers came in due to the anonymity.
OUTCOME

With the hand-written notes that were collected from people on the streets, and the comments written by people on the internet, they were compiled into a publication that represents the words that people want to say but they couldn’t.
