WeSpire is an enterprise platform that allows employees to join projects related to sustainability, social responsibility, health/well-being and volunteering. One aspect of the platform is sharing photos of these activities on the site's dashboard.

 

I talked to dozens of users about their photo-sharing process through a service called intercom.io that allows you to chat with users while they're using your website. The users that I spoke to said that the process of uploading a photo to the site was cumbersome. It involved taking a photo on the phone, emailing it to their work address, saving it on their desktop and then uploading it to the site.

 

Because the website's back-end is not currently optimized for native mobile, I challenged myself to design a simple app that would allow users to share a photo to their dashboard as its only functionality. I played with different transitions between screens and layouts with the intention of making this as easy of an experience as possible.
