Gentlemen Broncos
Prepare to Explore New Worlds. W/DG created an online presence for Gentlemen Broncos with Fox Searchlight. The marketing task for Fox Searchlight’s Gentlemen Broncos was to lure fans of director Jared Hess’ past successes, Napoleon Dynamite and Nacho Libre.
To that end, W/DG created a site that pulled visitors into the film’s distinct “science fiction spectacle as envisioned by low-fi auteur” aesthetic. The site acts as a gateway to a deliriously kitschy world populated by battling Yeast Lords, rocket-propelled deer statuary, golf cart-riding cyclopes and super human vomit. Using next generation Flash technologies and askew animations, the site continually shifts and interacts with the visitor’s mouse movements.
W/DG developed a viral site that featured flamboyant Dr. Ronald Chevalier (Jemaine Clement) elaborating on his lunatic theories. We also created an innovative, shareable Renamerator application that let visitors transform their everyday names into magical creations through what Dr. Chevalier calls the “power of the suffix.”
