One of the four independent film projects Film & Video students at NID (both PG and UG) do is an advertisement film. Prior to starting their own ad film project, the students are exposed to the nitty gritties of the genre/industry through an advertisement film workshop, conducted by a visiting professional. One such workshop took place recently, in January 2014, for the 2nd Year UG students of Film & Video at NID. It was conducted by Shri Rajeev Raja, ex-National Creative Director, DDB Mudra, with the assistance of NID Film & Video faculty Shri Prahlad Gopakumar. The workshop resulted in (among other things) a 30 seconds TV commercial for Volkswagen Polo hatchback car.
