Background
Audio is an extremely important feature for GoToMeeting. Ideally, users enter a meeting and the audio works seamlessly; however, when the audio breaks down, it's degrades the quality of the session, sometimes irreversibly. As a product team, we wanted to redesign the audio experience so users could easily and quickly access their audio status and options.

Reflecting the feature's priority, we moved the audio options from the Settings tab and promoted it to the tab bar, where it could always be displayed. In this tab, we displayed the most important options to the user: current audio status, options to connect to audio and ability to disconnect the audio from the session. The status and options vary depending on the capabilities of the meeting and device.

Additionally, we focused significant engineering effort to truely offer a one-tap dial into a session. As such, users can tap on the button and the app will autoamtically dial the phone number, meeting ID and audio PIN.

Team and Role
As the sole designer, I worked closely with the GoToMeeting iOS development team which consist of developers, quality assurance engineers, content editor and the product owner.
Audio tab, disconnected audio: At the top of the screen, users see their current audio status. Below that, they can choose to either connect via VoiP or the phone.
Audio tab, connecting to the phone: The status at the top has updated to show a user connecting to the Internet Call. At this point, the user can decide to switch to the phone call or disconnect from the session audio entirely.
Audio tab, connected to the phone: The status has updated to show users have successfully connected to the phone. Users can choose to switch to VoIP or disconnect from the audio entirely.
