The actions create non-destructive matte effects applied for specific tonal ranges and adjusts brightness and contrast similar to Adobe Lightroom.
The set of actions was created for the people who want to go through a large number of images and for the ones who can't really decide what effect they should apply to an image before using it.
Thus, the effects are stored in the History panel as snapshots, so one would just have to click each snapshot to see which one looks better, without even having to adjust anything.
