Part 1 of a series of hand-drawn, hand-lettered book covers created on scratchboard and then built into part of a gothic book cover series using Photoshop, Illustrator, and In Design.

Closeup of the scratchboard - I used different crosshatching styles in an effort to create texture and dilineate each letter from the next.
Full jacket layout - complete with linework to accent each element of the spine and inside book flaps. Added the red blood drops as a humorous nod to count dracula's love of the red stuff and as a thematic accent color that can be carried throughout each book cover in the series.
