As a part of initial site anaylsis for the library project, we were assigned to create a contextual group model. Through our own individual findings, we found that the topography of the site was the most important factor, therefore we based the model around this study. Through the use of 2 mm cardboard and layering, we achieved an accurate representation of the differing site levels around the located site (the Eastside site, bounded by Fox Street, Etna Street and Grosvenor Street).

Here are photographs of the final 1:500 site model of the located area by Eastside park, Birmingham. This model reflects the sites topography and how the buildings are constructed in relation to the differing site levels.
