Clinic Makeover | Dr Priya Sen Skin & Laser Centre
This is one of our design & build projects
– Clinic Design, located at 10 Jalan Serene, #02-03 Serene Centre

Project background: The client, Dr Priya Sen is a consultant Dermatologist with more than 20 years of dermatology experience and looking to expand her team in order to further enhance clients’ clinical experience.

Project challenge: To carry out construction work and expansion without interfering the existing unit as they operates their usual business hour.

Construction to delivery time: 1.5 months
This project is an expansion of the existing unit to create a whole new space, provide an atmosphere of calm and clarity, creating an overall better flow of movement in the space.

Due to the project located inside a shopping center therefore no natural light entering from the entrance. However, white wall and ceiling are paired with comfortable lighting to ensure the space looks aesthetically bright and clean. While ensuring the space is refreshing and white, it can also bring the user a sense of relaxation and calm.
The reception area was specially designed to create an airy and spacious lounge area with a sleek stainless steel reception desk, symbolizing efficiency and modernity while serves as a striking centerpiece. Upon entering the clinic, the interplay of lighting and steel reflection creates a dynamic atmosphere that acts as a prelude to the rest of the space.

The reception desk is finished with a metallic surface that adds a modern and sleek element to the room. This contrasts with the softer textures of the upholstered bench seating and the commercial carpet flooring designed to handle high foot traffic while still maintaining a stylish appearance.

The space is well-lit with recessed ceiling lights that provide even illumination without harsh shadows. This type of lighting is practical for workspaces and contributes to the clean and professional ambiance.
Behind-the-Scenes: Reception Design - The sleek design of a stainless steel reception desk typically embraces minimalism, focusing on essential forms, symbolizing efficiency and modernity while serves as a striking centerpiece.

Upon entering the clinic, the clean and polished surface of a stainless steel reception desk conveys professionalism and attention to detail. It reflects a commitment to quality and creates a positive first impression for visitors and clients.

Beyond aesthetics, a well-designed reception desk priorities functionality. It also features integrated storage, cable management systems and ergonomic design elements to enhance productivity and organization.
Remodeling of the areaThe “Before Remodeling” floor plan, there are blue outlines to define the wall being demolished. The “After Remodeling” floor plan, there are orange outlines indicating where walls have been removed.

The layout after expansion shows a more symmetrical design with a smooth flow of movement through the space, as pathways and circulation routes are organized around the central axis. This enhance both functionality and aesthetics, contributing in a visually pleasing and harmonious environment.
The real-life perspective shows the corridor before and after the renovation. On the left, the “before” image shows a narrower hallway with a wall denoted by the blue dashed outline.

On the right, the “after” image shows the same view but after the wall has been removed, as indicated by the orange arrow on the floor. It enhances for more flexibility in movement within the space, as people can move freely between areas, improving accessibility and convenience.
