Character and creature designs for The Mist.

Whenever I get stuck or need a break from other projects, I've started creating images based on short stories. "Skeleton Crew" by Stephen King includes The Mist which was turned into a movie starring Thomas Jane and then a TV series. However, I wanted to create a scene that ignores both of those interpretations. 

Line work, flats, and rendering. For the final image, I used a gradient map, lots of levels corrections, mist effects (of course), and more gritty textures.
