Celebrating the Bengali New Year through the traditional staple, Alpona! Imagine and design your own Alpona, showcase your creativity through our platform. 

The goal of Alponay Baishakh was to elevate the celebration of the Bengali New Year by promoting the Alponay Boishakh festival. Central to this objective was the aim to enhance user engagement with the rich heritage of Alpona art, a cherished tradition within Bengali culture. In addition to fostering offline festivities, the project sought to create an immersive online experience, providing festival participants with access to event information and facilitating communication. Through these initiatives, Alponay Baishakh aimed to unite individuals both locally and globally in the joyous celebration of Bengali New Year, fostering a sense of cultural pride and community spirit.
Project Goal
XR Interactive designed and developed an interactive microsite for the Alponay Boishakh 1431 festival. This microsite aimed to bridge the gap between generations and connect people with Bengali cultural traditions.
It featured some exiting elements---
1. Countdown Timer: A visually appealing countdown timer generated excitement by displaying the time remaining until the festival began.
2. Digital Alpona Artboard: Users could virtually create their own Alpona designs using a variety of tools, including brushes, erasers, shapes, colors, patterns, and a freehand drawing pencil, and submit their artwork for potential display.
3. Program Schedule: The website provided a clear and easy-to-follow schedule of festival events, including times and topics.
4. Cultural News Section: The website offered informative content about Pohela Boishakh traditions and customs.
5. Contact Form: Visitors could submit questions directly to the event organizers through a user-friendly contact form.
Result
This interactive website offered a unique and engaging way for people to participate in the Alponay Boishakh festival celebrations. By providing a platform for creative expression and cultural exploration, the website likely contributed to the success of the event.
