Let us move you
Orms, in collaboration with Canon launched a competition titled "Orms x Canon: Let Us Move You," Inspired by the diversity and talent of the local photographic community in Cape Town, SA. This exhibition celebrates the theme of movement in all its forms, photographers across the country were invited to capture moments of awe-inspiring dynamism.
My approach was to tell a story, a movement from bondage to freedom. Inspired by the book of Exodus, my hope was to capture a story, frozen in time, a story of freedom/struggle and the necessity for movement, away from bondage into the promise land.

The Process
The process, started with outlining the story I wanted to tell. When communicating emotions, it was important to decide what the viewers needed to feel and this lead the visual exploration. The next step was to find a model, collaborating with an athletic model was key to bring the vision to life, the ability to manipulate the body in interesting ways was the criteria that led to reaching out to dancers, acrobats and parkour athletes. Eventually I found the talented upcoming interpretative dancer, Samkelo.
