For this project we were asked to redesign the interior of an already existing building at Piazza del Carmine in Florence, Italy. A building whose structure goes all the way back to the medieval ages.
Italy and specifically cities like Florence have very strict laws for the protection of their architectural and historical heritage. It is not very common to create new edifications at places like this. However, when desiring to modernizate such spaces there is no better ally than interior design.
The main goal of the assigment was to design a concept store based on the provided plans of the first story of the building. Each student was given the creative liberty to develop whichever concept they desired for their store and create an interior design to represent it.
