For this poster, I was tasked to create something dealing with Mayan glyphs. I chose to go with a magazine cover for Mayan glyphs that would highlight their unique history but also bring a new life to it in the modern age. I added a cracked stone texture to give a sense that these were created on a wall like an original glyph would be. However, with the glyphs and font, I wanted to make it more modern and went with more "bubbly" and stylized icons. 

This entire poster was created within Adobe Illustrator.

Below, you will see my sketches and thumbnails for this poster. I started with some unique ideas with their kind of "assets" and then started to rearrange those assets and mingle them with the other thumbnails. 

Then you will see the first digital rough of the poster. Created to get a feel for the layout of the final poster and also served as a guide to create the glyphs in Adobe Illustrator that are used in the final poster.
