Becoming a Humanitarian

Workplace Giving is a program run by Australian Red Cross that helps to support the ongoing work that makes a huge difference to the lives of many people in need. While ordinary Australians go about their daily work a small pre-tax donation from their pay helps: villagers without access to clean water; parents who are struggling to feed their kids; and elderly Australians with no one to care for them.

We needed a way of demonstrating how easy it can be for ordinary people to become a Red Cross humanitarian heroe, and the difference this makes in the lifes of others. The concept was to juxaposed the heroes with the tools used in the work of Red Cross. Our 'heroes' are typically corporate office workers. I had our photographer Anna Warr capture in our 'heroes' the sense of pride, pleasure, and acomplishment that being an active humanitarian provides.
