Having acquired the songwriting bug back in 2007 and recorded over 20 original songs, now and again I feel inspired to share with others this very special activity. The number of participants varies from about 5 to 20, the age range starting as young as 4 up to 16. One never knows what hidden creative talents may be uncovered. 

 

I simplify songwriting into three parts: story, melody, and 'hooks'. The workshops consist of an introduction, story selection, melody discovery, and performance. Sometimes I am invited to do a single workshop at a particular location, other times it's a series of workshops over the course of the summer.
