Originally drawn with pencil for an Art Direction course, this rendition of the famous picture by Leonardo Da Vinci, 'Mona Lisa', was initially intended to incorporate the [WIP] caption, 'Be outside longer.' as part of the brief for a print ad about spending more time outside by using the sunscreen, 'Banana Boat'. 

My idea was a bird's eye view of a large garden area, a person mowing the lawn in the bottom corner, having finished not only mowing the entire lawn, but also being able to take the time needed to etch into the lawn a large scale Mona Lisa... I like the idea. I think it has something. Perhaps it needs a change in caption?! Not sure. Regardless, I actually like the image of the Mona Lisa I did for this project.

I later did a digital version in ProCreate however, I actually drew the white on black first and then reversed it for the easier-to-look-at black lines on white background afterwards. That was an interesting part to this particular drawing. I'd never done that before but it made for an interesting new approach to drawing because the lines had to work in both the negative and the positive.
