On this project, my role was that of an Assistant Director. I also had to overlook the CGI look development which was outsourced to NoLabel; and coordinate with them to reach a look which would be believable to human eye and is in accordance to the director`s vision.

From the very start of the project we knew Rashmika is gonna be the lead this year for 7up`s Summer Campaign. 

The challenge was to cast a good actor against her who can support her in minimum amount of screen time. After trying out countless Low key, Indie, Bollywood & Regional Actors; Brijendra Kala was finalized.

Casting game doesn`t end here as we needed many featured cast and Rashmika`s accurate body double to prop up the explosives at just the right height.

Featured Cast were shortlisted from the open auditions we conducted in Studio 2000 in Versova, Mumbai. We ended up auditioning about 130-140 candidates for the role.

By the end of the day we were also in contact with 2 people who have played Rashmika`s body double before as well before.

Referencing for this was especially challenging as we also had to get a good stock footage which we can use, since shooting abroad was going out of Budget. I, personally have scanned through the whole of internet looking for the perfect Stock footage for the formation of water Blob.

The other major reference we needed was that of the expression we want from Rashmika, when an ice-cold water blob explodes over her head, leaving her drenched.

The team sat together for this specific one and raided every single ALS ice bucket challenge video, every other water splash from cars, puddles and basically anything and everything that would give us the reaction post cold water hits the face.

This was the first look sent to us by NoLabel as to what we can expect the water blob to look like. This image was approved by the Director & Agency & the Client.
