A personal project for Empire Magazine's True Detective poster competition.
My poster is based on a pivotal scene in the show where 'certain' characters are so close to meeting but never actually do. It was my favourite scene of the show and an easy starting point for my poster. I feel the dark silhouetted gritty feel to the show has been captured well in plenty of other places. My take is based on the aforementioned scene and the multiple symbolism of the show.
The wake of the passing boat at the top, a crown of thorns running across the water line, shadows of the tree casting the wooden ornaments left by the killer and our man on the lawn mower creating the spiral which is ever present throughout the show.
