HBO Asia Always-on Content

HBO is home to some of the most groundbreaking TV series in Hollywood history. These shows are often global phenomenons, triggering waves of discussions from fans in every corner of the internet. Yet, HBO Asia sees little engagement on its social pages aside from spikes during releases of major tentpole titles, like Game of Thrones.

Our goal was to get people in Thailand, The Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore to uncover the richness of HBO’s offerings by helping them connect with others through HBO’s always-on content on social media.

Every month, we proposed engaging content ideas that showcase the monthly releases. The content also spotlighted the premium quality and complex human element in the stories that HBO tells.
HBO Originals
House of the Dragon
For major tentpole titles like House of the Dragon and The Last of Us, it was important to take an almost real-time approach to the content in order to engage with the fans. We also developed a look and feel specific to each show's universe.
The White Lotus S2
The Last of Us
Succession S4
MAX Originals
Gossip Girl S2
The Sex Lives of College Girls S2
Trendjacking
We jumped on popular topics and events to engage with our audience while promoting the shows on HBO.
As someone who has geeked out about many of HBO's titles before, and a fan of pop culture in general, I highly enjoyed making all this content that I felt like would engage someone like me. Not only was I able to catch up on a lot of shows that I have been sitting on, I was grateful to be able to say that I make memes as part of my job.
