A sundial is a device that tells the time of the day using sunlight and the apparent position of the sun in the sky. As a graduation gift, it represents how the knowledge graduates have received during their time at QF is a tool to seek guidance. It combines the ideas of knowledge and light—two important elements of QF—into a convocation gift. The quote engraved on the sundial is from an Islamic scholar, Ibn Taymiyyah.
