Dracula Book Cover
Project Intro:
This assignment was created for ASU's TWC 411 course. The prompt was to make a simple book cover for a classic book that is completely original and using only Adobe Illustrator. Our colors were limited to two, and we could only work with typography and letter illustrations.
Process:
I decided to create a cover for Dracula as this assignment was completed in the Halloween season. I first found a font that hinted at the gothic vibe I was going for. I then figured out a way to add some visual interest by extending the legs of the R and A in order to allude to fangs. For the final image I changed the tips of the extended letters to red to allude to a blood-coated tooth. All of this was done in Adobe Illustrator.
Above are different versions of my book cover. I had a hard time deciding which one I liked best, but the popular vote amongst my peers was the first one.
