Shift Lock - 3D to Print to Part

OEM vs New - Aluminum has a much nicer finish with a more solid feel
The reverse lockout is a feature on the shifter to prevent drivers from accidentally putting the vehicle into reverse. The small part sits right under the shift knob and needs to be lifted up to unlock the reverse gear position. The OEM piece is a textured plastic piece and feels flimsy and cheap.

This new piece is CNC turned from aircraft grade aluminum with smoother contours and a fine finish, giving the part a more refined and upscale look and feel. The finish is left as is to show the milling markings and is anodized gloss clear or gloss black giving the part an refined, yet slightly industrial look.

This is a direct replacement of the OEM part, copying critical dimensions and smoothing out some features. The prototype was 3D printed to verify measurements and a pre-production piece was made to verify finish and final fitment.
