These boards were produced as part of "Designer Challenge" a SCAD based Motion Design weekly challenge. The theme for this week was "Tao." It occurred to me how much Tao had in common with the Thermodynamics mechanic of "Entropy." In broad terms entropy is the tendency of a closed system to seek a state of equilibrium. It also describes the natural tendency of things to move from order to disorder. The Tao Te Ching says "Practice not-doing, and everything will fall into place." I think this is a beautiful optimistic way of viewing entropy. All things are moving into states of disorder, so embrace it! The visuals were based largely on this idea as well as two passages from the Tao Te Ching that I found to be strikingly similar in philosophy.
