Located on the Elbe River, it is a city distinguished by its architectural monuments and history. Before World War II, Dresden was considered one of the cultural centers of Germany and Europe. In 1945, as a result of an attack by British fighter jets, the city fell into disrepair, and very few historic buildings were preserved. 250,000 people died here in World War II
