Snowboard Grabs - Infographics

There’s nothing I love more in these dark winter nights than watching those Olympic half pipe
finals. Although Kelly Clark did her last Olympics in 2018 there are still some familiar faces in
the snowboarding events as well as plenty of new ones. I wanted to make a few graphics to
communicate what some of the grabs are called and how to carry them out.
They’re all in goofy stance as that’s my preference so if you’re regular (have your left foot forward) then they’ll be the opposite way around. I love snowboarding so much. I had some lessons a few years ago and honestly just fell in love with it. Having said that - I’ve never had the opportunity to play with real snow on a real mountain - one day I hope.
There’s a tone of rotations that are needed to perform tricks but that’s gonna take another few graphics to explain. The names of some of these different from region to region so I’ve done the ones I’m familiar with but they may not be what others recognise. I have included some alternative names underneath.
There are so many grabs, lots I haven't been able to include, and there are always more being
created. Part of the beauty about this sport is the creativeness that's encouraged when you're
riding. I hope these graphics help bring some clarity to these funky names so you have an idea
what they're talking about when the commentators start rattling off random food dishes.
